Returns and Refunds

Our return window You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition you received it, unused and in its original packaging. You will also need your receipt or proof of purchase.

To start a return, email us at shop@booksforkids.co.nz. Please do not send items back without contacting us first.

Send approved returns to: 310 Grey Street, Hamilton East 3216, New Zealand.

Damaged or wrong items Please check your order when it arrives. If your item is damaged, faulty, or not what you ordered, contact us straight away at shop@booksforkids.co.nz and we will make it right.

Under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, you are entitled to a remedy if a product is faulty, does not match its description, or is not fit for purpose. This policy does not limit your rights under New Zealand consumer law.

What we do not accept returns on We do not accept returns on:

  • Gift cards
  • Items that have been used or are not in original condition

Exchanges If you would like a different book, return your original item first and place a new order once your return is accepted.

Refunds Once we receive and check your return, we will let you know whether it has been approved. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method within 10 business days. If more than 15 business days have passed since your refund was approved, contact us at shop@booksforkids.co.nz.
